Raynham Library Hosts Copper Night Light Workshop With Local Metalsmith

Raynham Public Library closed its doors for the weekend Saturday after a week of programming that included a hands-on copper night light workshop led by a Massachusetts metalsmith, the library's event calendar shows.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The library hosted "Make a Copper Night Light with a Local Metalsmith" on Thursday evening, September 17, with instructor Heather Beck, a jewelry maker based in Easthampton who trained at UMass Dartmouth. Registered attendees built their own copper nightlights during the 90-minute session in the library's meeting room.

The library also held its regular Baby Storytime on Friday morning, September 18, led by Miss Brooke for children up to 18 months and their caregivers. The library was closed all day Saturday, September 19.

COMING UP

Raynham Public Library has a full slate of programming over the next week. Kids ages 6 to 11 can compete in a Battle Dragons Tournament Thursday, September 24, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., using Reading Dragons cards collected through the library's ongoing reading challenge. On Saturday, September 26, from 11 a.m. to noon, the library will host "Understanding Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Misinformation," a program examining how AI-generated content, including deepfakes and manipulated images, is complicating the fight against misinformation; registration is required.
